Christmas!

One of the nice things about living in Colorado is that we’re centrally located for our family. Nick and I both have siblings on the West Coast and parents in the Midwest, so holidays in Colorado can be a nice compromise.

This year, the Jacksons came out for Christmas with their two pups, Chloe and Lollie. It was fun to have such a full house around the holidays!

We also had a quick visit from the Prebles before Christmas as they headed out to Oregon for their Christmas.

There was lots of good family time and lots of card playing while everyone was here. (Shout out to the Jacksons for their exceptional “Exploding Kittens” skills!)

On Christmas, we had a delicious breakfast casserole and then it was time to open presents! I got one very special present from Nick, which I’ll talk about next week. Later that night, we had a big Christmas dinner (complete with a Preble ham! It’s legendary; I’ll tell you about it sometime…).

The day after Christmas, we took the Jacksons to see the Gaylord ICE! Show. They loved it! It was fun for Nick and I to go again, too. There were a few details I didn’t notice in our first trip that I was able to pay more attention to this time.

And of course, we couldn’t leave without getting a photo…

On Wednesday, Dec. 27, we had our anatomy/3D ultrasound, and everything is looking good with Baby Boy Jackson. I’ll share more details about the appointment after next week’s special post.

And just to keep you tied over until then, here’s one of the images from that scan!

We did learn why I hadn’t been feeling as much movement as I thought I should.

I have an anterior placenta, so it’s on the front of my uterus (rather than back toward my spine). This dampens what you can feel until a little later on. But again, more details (and pics) to come from this appointment in an upcoming blog.

Once again, it was a holiday spent with family doing lots of fun things, but luckily I wasn’t as fatigued as I was after Thanksgiving!
