A couple of blogs ago, I mentioned that I was trying to find a way to turn this hobby of mine into a business. I set a goal for myself of launching something before my birthday, and I’m happy to report I met my goal!
I’d been considering a side gig for a while, and when a good friend mentioned she’d started a print-on-demand business, I was intrigued. I’d heard of this type of business model and had briefly looked into it before. It seemed like a good option, so Jami and I got together so I could learn more about it.
It’s a relatively easy and inexpensive venture to try, so I decided to give it a go. It’s been fun taking my quips about IVF and turning them into relatable products.
I’ve set up a small Etsy shop–IVF That Designs! I’m working to add more products to the shop all the time, but I’ve got a few fun things up to start. The goal is to one day migrate away from Etsy and host the shop here on ivfthat.com–I do own the domain after all. But I want to see if this is a viable business before I take that step.
For the time being, I will dedicate a page on the blog that will have individual links to each product on Etsy.
It would be nice if this helps bring in a few extra dollars (daycare is super expensive), but really, I just hope my designs help people to laugh throughout this painful and not fun process. If you don’t laugh, you’ll cry, and if we’re being honest, you’ll still probably cry. (You’ll probably see that on a shirt soon!)
If you know someone going through the IVF process, please share the shop with them. Hopefully, one of the t-shirts or mug will make them smile and be hopeful for their own positive outcome.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on my designs, so please do share! You can reach me at ivfthat@gmail.com.
