World IVF Day

Today at work, a colleague wished me a happy World IVF Day. How did I not know there was a whole day dedicated to IVF?

Granted, I should’ve known. There’s literally a day for anything and everything you can imagine, and I should’ve looked it up.

In addition to wishing me a happy day, she also shared her gratitude for my willingness to share my experience with others.

I was incredibly grateful for the sentiment. Sharing my experience throughout the IVF process was one of the few things that kept me sane throughout all those procedures and medications (not to mention, many a tear).

This blog was cathartic for me, and, I hoped, helpful for anyone else who was knee-deep in the IVF trenches.

I know I’ve let it slip by the wayside, and I really am hoping to change that. While my IVF journey is paused for now, until we’re ready to try for our baby girl, I do feel there’s still more to say.

I have more to tell you about becoming a parent and about my sweet little Rowan. (Who is getting less little by the day!)

Our first year with little man just flew by. And even though he’s been walking for a couple of months now, my mind is still blown that he’s fully upright and mobile (and into everything!).

There’s also just general news in the world of IVF that is worth discussing.

In addition to the above, I’m also researching potential ways to turn this into a business. A business that makes light of the IVF process (because if you don’t laugh, you’ll cry). And a business where this shared experience can be turned into a conversation-starter with other couples facing those challenges.

My goal is to have something figured out and started by my birthday (Sept. 30, if you’re curious). I’m going to do my best to hold myself to that deadline, but I can’t make any promises.

What I can promise is that when I do have all of the above figured out, you’ll be the first to know!
