Hey readers, sorry I missed regular blog day yesterday. I’m actually on a family vacation in Florida right now. I plan to tell you more about our vacation and share some photos in a couple weeks.
I did want to go ahead and share a quick update with you, though. Once we get back from vacation, the IVF train will keep on rolling.
On Monday, June 19, I’ll have my next three procedures:
- Hysteroscopy
- Doppler Ultrasound
- Trial Embryo Transfer
None of these are difficult procedures, but they don’t particularly sound all that much fun, either.
I have to take a strong dose of Ibuprofen one hour prior for the hysteroscopy since the procedure causes cramping. For the doppler ultrasound, I’m not allowed to have any caffeine (not even decaf versions of beverages) for 72 hours prior to the procedure.
If you see me anytime between Friday at 3 p.m. and Monday at 3 p.m., and I’m not my usual happy self, that may be why. Tea is usually required to make me agreeable in the morning.
And, finally, for the trial embryo transfer, I have to drink 32 ounces of water in a 15-minute window, one hour prior to the procedure. A full bladder is essential.
Doesn’t that sound like so much fun? My sister confirmed it is, indeed, not.
Ah well, there hasn’t been much fun in this entire process, so I guess there’s no reason for that to change now.
Anyway, I’ll be back on normal blog day next week to tell you how those procedures went.
